Being an MP is a vocation like no other, where you have the chance to make a real and lasting difference to the future of our country and to the people who elect you. While you don’t need any particular skills to become an MP, in order to be eligible to stand you must be over 18 and a UK, Irish or Commonwealth citizen, and not otherwise disqualified.
If you meet the requirements and have any questions at this stage, the Candidates Team will be happy to talk to you and provide further advice.
As a starting point, we recommend you read the Party guide to becoming a Conservative Party Candidate and if you have decided that you want to stand register your interest through the Intent of Application form and send it to the Candidates Team at candidateenquiries@conservatives.com.
While the process is run at a National level, if would like some informal advice the Holborn and St Pancras Association is happy to help and can be reached via office@holbornstpancrasconversatives.org.uk
